March 17th, 2024, Beginning Melt & Pour 2PM - 5PM This class introduces students to the wonderful and creative world of melt & pour soap making, without having to work with caustic sodium hydroxide (lye). Students will be creating and and taking home 6 soaps (approximately 3.6 to 4 ounces each) that include embeds, color, scent (essential oils or fragrance oils), body/cosmetic safe biodegradable glitter, and/or organic botanical toppings, the choices are endless! Your soaps will be packages in clear cellophane packages and placed in a cute SloppySoap bag for safe transport home. Let your creativity flow! Teaching topics: - White vs Transparent bases/soap sweating - Temperature settings throughout the process - Essential and Fragrance Oil loads - Making Embeds - Colorants - Choosing Molds & What to avoid - Safety in working with Melt & Pour - Cleaning up Students will have the opportunity to purchase a melt & pour kit to take home.
